A copper alloy buckle dating from the 17th century and discovered in the wall of the Eynsham Coop in 2014.

This copper alloy buckle dates from the 17th century. It was common for buckles to be used in the Stuart period (1603-1714) by men and women of almost all social classes. They used them to fasten clothes or belts. From the mid-17th century, they also used them to fasten shoes — a trend that lasted until the end of the 18th century. This buckle was discovered in the wall of the Eynsham Coop in 2014.
